OUR HISTORY

HOW WE WERE FOUNDED

“Where everybody is somebody” is a vital part of the vision for House of Worship, to build a church community where everyone is valued and included.

In early 2010, God spoke into the lives of Jim & Susan Connolly and Marty & Lois Corbett. The Connollys were living in Georgia, USA and the Corbetts had just started a family on the Gold Coast, Australia.

With a purpose and desire to serve God, the two families returned to their native Northern Ireland and later that year, HOW Belfast met for the first time in one of east Belfast’s iconic landmark buildings “The Strand” cinema. Only a few months later in February 2011, God's miraculous way provided a disused church building in the Castlereagh area of the city that we now call 'home'.

Our strategy for church life is simple… love God and love people! We are a community church that presents the message of Christ in a contemporary and relaxed environment while still maintaining the traditional Christian values of faith, hope and love. We believe that the church should be an exciting, dynamic, vibrant, challenging and life changing experience, where the sharing and practicing of Bible principles brings to people a sense of hope, purpose, belonging, fulfillment and well-being in life.

At HOW Belfast, you will find a bible based, faith fuelled, fun filled, family focused family that loves to do life together. We would love you to be part of our tribe - there is a place here for you. We want you to be a ‘somebody’ in our family and we invite you to come along and find your place, grow your faith and make an impact!
